Thanks boyo! I was pretty happy to pump this little analysis out, actually. It's nice to actually write write every once in a while, but what I find is that I have to hammer it out right away.. if I let it stew in my mind, it'll turn weak.

But yeah... It's a wild world we live in. I'm super stoked about this tablet too... if not for the tablet itself, at least for raising the bar of other things to come. It's a win-win... it forces others to raise their game too - whether a company jumps on the band wagon right away, or like I said, a couple of product cycles down the road, it'll eventually benefit everyone.

Ugh, and I really wish someone would follow Eric's advice on a new music-business model...

(oh and Liu... poo on you.. I think?)

Great post Dyl, I very much enjoyed this read. I'm always intrigued by your thoughts on these sorts of topics.

I know we've had this conversation before, so you know I'm in complete agreeance with you on getting the majority of your hard earned dollar directly to the artists. Since the large majority of their earnings come from performances/tours, maybe if they got a more realistic share of actual sales revenue then we would see ticket prices in a more affordable range... maybe.

This is what excites me about the potential for a/the tablet (from NYT you linked): "The new crop of tablets is being viewed as more flexible — gadgets that combine elements of the iPhone, e-book readers like the Kindle and laptops." Sickkk.

"Yeah, Industry, you fight back… but guess what, if Apple hadn’t created the vision, you wouldn’t know where to go". Amen. Great analysis man.
